The current rate of pay for our Modern Apprenticeship programme is £127.31 gross per week during the first year of training, rising to a basic rate of £392.00 per week on successful completion of the three-year training programme.
The role of our Modern Apprenticeship programme is to ensure the provision of skills and vocational training to produce suitably qualified persons to fulfil various roles within our business units.
Bombardier's apprentice training facility is based at Interpoint, 20-24 York Street, Belfast.
The three-year programme includes day release to Belfast Metropolitan College. In the first year, trainees follow an off-the-job training programme at Interpoint, Belfast. During this time, they will develop key engineering foundation skills, which will form the basis for second and third year development.
In the second and third years, trainees will rotate around various operational areas to develop the skills and knowledge required to be successfully integrated into the business at the end of the apprenticeship programme.
The craft trainee is required to have a minimum of two GCSE passes at grade C or above in Maths and English.
The technical engineer trainee is required to have a minimum of four GCSE passes at grade C or above in Maths, English Language and two further subjects, one of which must be Physics or Double Award Science.
Additional Information:
Please note that all apprentices are brought into the company as Craft trainees. There is an internal selection process approximately six months into the first year of the programme to select technical trainees based on performance, numbers for which will vary from year to year dependent on the Engineering requirement.
